Celebrating Physical Therapy Month – Meet Vida Juodatis, MSPT

Vida Juodaitis, MSPT, received her Masters Degree from Boston University in 1991. She was working as a Lab Technician at UMass Medical School, studying how different chemicals affect heart tissue. She likens that experience to “Baking a Cake Everyday” in that she was doing the same experiment, while adjusting the “ingredients” to test the results. It was like “let’s see what a 1/2 cup of sugar does to the cake one day, then 1 cup of sugar the next day.” She decided that she wanted to work in a different environment.

Vida said that her people skills are her strength, and she likes working with people, so she looked into Physical Therapy. She enjoys independent evaluations of patients, developing treatment plans, and adjusting the plans to help her patients reach their goals. She notes that Physical Therapy has a lot of options also, with a flexible schedule that encourages better family time.

Vida has been working for Reliant Rehab for 4 months, but she has been coming to River Terrace for the past 5 years. She says that the people at River Terrace are very compassionate and inquisitive, knowing how best to accommodate the patient’s needs. Vida likes being at River Terrace because of the “homey feel” that the building creates. Vida says, “I have worked in over 25 buildings in my career, and I like it here very much. The patients here feel appreciated and loved.”

Vida lives in Lunenburg and has 2 grown daughters. One works in Medical Administration and the other is still in college and discovering herself. A fun fact about Vida is that she is a Beekeeper, an avid gardener and loves to hike. She used to be the Director of a kids summer program.

Thank you, Vida, for all that you do to help River Terrace’s patients reach their full potential!
